China Bohai Bank Co., Ltd. (“Bohai Bank” or “the Bank”) is the only national joint-stock commercial bank newly established since the amendment to the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Commercial Banks in 2003. Itis the first national joint-stock commercial bank to introduce a foreign strategic investor at the initial stage since 2000, and the first national joint-stock commercial bank headquartered in Tianjin.

  Bohai Bank was jointly established on December 30, 2005 by seven promoters, namely TEDA Investment Holding Co., Ltd. (天津泰达投资控股有限公司, currently known as TEDA Investment Holding (Group) Co., Ltd.(天津泰达投资控股（集团）有限公司)), Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (渣打银行（香港）有限公司), China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (中国远洋运输（集团）总公司), State Development & Investment Corporation (国家开发投资公司, currently known as State Development & Investment Corp., Ltd. (国家开发投资集团有限公司)), Baosteel Group Corporation (宝钢集团有限公司, currently known as China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited (中国宝武钢铁集团有限公司)), Tianjin Trust Co., Ltd. (天津信托有限责任公司) ,and Tianjin Shanghui Investment Holding Company Limited (天津商汇投资（控股）有限公司). The Bank commenced business in February 2006, and was listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 16, 2020.

  As the youngest national joint-stock commercial bank, Bohai Bank benefits from a significant late-mover advantage. Since its establishment, the Bank has adhered to a policy-driven and people-oriented approach of financial services, focusing on its core businesses while pursuing innovation with discipline. It has actively supported national strategies, the real economy and people’s well-being, and accelerated the deepening of reform, transformation and development. With balanced business development and a national network, the Bank has achieved rapid growth and continued to make new strides in high-quality development. As of the end of 2025, the Bank has established branches in 65 key cities and special administrative regions across the country. Under its internal management structure, the network comprises 34 tier-one branches (including 3 branches directly administered by the head office and 1 overseas branch), 35 tier-two branches, 292 sub-branches and 16 community micro sub-branches, bringing the total number of business outlets to 377. Bohai Bank has substantially completed its strategic footprint across China´s major provincial capitals and economically significant cities.

  Bohai Bank has received numerous awards in banking categories organized by various institutions and prestigious media outlets, including the “Excellent Bank of the Year for China Treasury Construction” at the 2025 “Sinan Award” selection, the "2025 Gamma Award for Technological Innovation", the "Outstanding Benchmark Award for Rural Revitalization Service (Agriculture-related Loan of Bohai) ", and the "Outstanding Award for Mobile Banking Experience". At the 2025 Best Investment Bank selection hosted by Wind, the Bank received the "Rapid Progress Award for Bank Bond Underwriting" and the "Rapid Progress Award for Best Debt Financing Instrument Underwriter" in the banking category. The Bank also received two special awards: "2025 Excellent Discounting Institution" and "2025 Excellent Corporate Promotion Institution" at the 2025 Excellent Institutions Awards hosted by Shanghai Commercial Paper Exchange. In the selection of the fifth "Golden Reputation Award" hosted by PY Standard, the Bank won the "Bank of Excellence in Wealth Management" and "Bank of Excellence in Private Banking". In the selection of the "2025 Golden Stone Award & Outstanding Case in Financial Consumer Protection" hosted by Sina Finance, the Bank was recognized as an "Outstanding Case in Banking Consumer Protection". Additionally, the Bank was awarded the "Leading Institution for Green Development Concepts" by the Export-Import Bank of China and "Green and Low-carbon Award" by the Agricultural Development Bank of China in their respective annual evaluations.
